General Health Disclaimer

The Postnatal Recovery program (“the Program”) is an online exercise program that provides general health and fitness information for postnatal women. The content, including but not limited to videos, text, graphics, and other materials, is provided for informational and educational purposes only.

The Program is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your doctor, physiotherapist, midwife, or other qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or exercise program.

Before Starting This Program

You should consult with a qualified healthcare professional before beginning any exercise program, particularly if:

  • You have recently given birth (within the past 6 weeks)
  • You had a caesarean section or assisted delivery
  • You are experiencing pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, or pelvic organ prolapse symptoms
  • You have been diagnosed with diastasis recti
  • You have any pre-existing medical conditions or complications from pregnancy or birth
  • You have not yet received clearance from your GP, obstetrician, or midwife for postnatal exercise
  • You are experiencing postnatal depression or anxiety

The 6-week postnatal GP check-up is an important milestone. We strongly recommend completing this check-up and obtaining clearance before starting the Program.

During Exercise

If you experience any of the following during or after exercise, stop immediately and seek medical advice:

  • Pain (in any area, including pelvic, abdominal, or back pain)
  • Heavy bleeding or sudden increase in lochia
  • Dizziness, faintness, or shortness of breath
  • Increased pelvic heaviness or dragging sensation
  • Worsening of urinary or faecal incontinence
  • Visible doming or coning of the abdomen during exercises
  • Any unusual symptoms or discomfort

Limitations of This Program

While the Program has been designed by a qualified physiotherapist, it provides general guidance and cannot account for individual circumstances. The exercises are not tailored to your specific medical history, birth experience, or current physical condition in the way that an in-person physiotherapy consultation would be.

This Program does not provide:

  • Individual medical diagnosis
  • Personalised treatment plans
  • Physical assessment or examination
  • Emergency medical advice
  • Mental health treatment or counselling

Professional Credentials

This program has been developed by a registered physiotherapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Physiotherapists in Australia are regulated health professionals who must meet ongoing registration standards set by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.

To the fullest extent permitted by Australian law, the creators and operators of this Program accept no liability for any loss, injury, claim, or damage arising from or connected to the use of this Program, including but not limited to:

  • Any reliance on information provided in the Program
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Australian Consumer Law.
